Hi, I’m Alison.
My approach to therapy is empathic, warm, and relational. I work with adolescents and adults in navigating life transitions, establishing boundaries, and engaging in self-care. I believe each and every person holds a capacity for change and growth. Together, I believe we can identify ways to manage current stressors and symptoms while finding a more hopeful path forward. I utilize insight-oriented psychotherapy to help us identify patterns, thoughts, and behaviors in your past and present.
“Do and hope” is the motto of the Mathieson Clan in Scotland. Together, these words are a call to action. Hope, in and of itself, requires active doing. In our time together, we will take steps toward your goals. Through the therapeutic relationship, we will co-create meaning and identify ways in which you can hold and sustain hope. Hoping is not passive. Instead, we will actively engage in this process together.
I believe we are all meant to live interdependently. We may need different supports at different times in our lives. Therapy itself is a lifelong journey and may be something you engage with differently at different points in your life. I meet you where you are today in order to ensure that you feel supported in where you are in your journey right now.
